Palliative Care, Quality of Life Assessment and End Of Life
We understand how difficult the end of our Pets life can be. Like us, the elderly pets can be affected by multiple concurrent conditions which need managing. Our aim is to give them the best quality of life as possible and the most important part of that for us is managing pain. At Sussex Home Vets we offer palliative care appointments towards the end of their life and tools to help you as a family monitor their quality of life. The decision to end your pets life is one of the most difficult decisions you and your family will have to make for them, and we are here to help guide you every step of the way.
As we go through this process, there will be a time when we need to discuss the decision to say goodbye to them. We offer this as a pre-planned appointment to go through the process, what to expect on the day, talk through options with regards to funeral planning and cremation and also bereavement afterwards. We work with Chestnut Lodge Pet Cemetery and Crematorium who are as passionate as we are about making this process as respectful and peaceful as possible for both your pets and your family
